July review

Since I got so many out dated things to put, I just practically cant be bother since its already past it's date line. So how was the month of July? Lets see...erm.../shuffle shuffle rustle.

As the days past I feel great. Most of my weights I been carrying is going off one by one especially the military side. My tests are over and I wanna know where I will be posted to. Hope is somewhere I can actually enjoy in. Neither places I posted to will be near..in fact its real far....but i wanna get out of the previous camp due to all the sad and hateful memories and hope to have some worth keeping ones at my new workplace. I feel more and more lethargic every day in camp...maybe cause of the rehearsals, my aching body ( maybe I need to have my motivation again to work out my body and mind) and the thoughts of posting out. Will I be in a camp or an isolated land of no communication? Who knows? Only the person who wants us there knows...LOL!

My life outside of camp is getting better. I start to socialise more, trying to take in step by step. As I move along, I am becoming more and more aware of the outside world. Peace is in my heart and people whom I know will be there smiling. Though rough times I have and I bet most guys will have it too, a time where boys become men is sure not an easy task especially finding your true self. I seen many changes if the tamed become wild. It sometimes disturb me for I find that this is not right. I hope things go for better. IT BEEN REAL FUN I would say gradually I hope more of this outings can be happen especially I hope there is one after the NDP. Waiting for a reply. Though it maybe expensive but I can handle it since I am getting my NSF pay every month.

NDP IS COMING!! WOOOOO!!! They say we can have goodie bags and a CD of the NDP show. Our warrant also have pictures of us in both SAF and NDP. One is enough for each TC to spread and have among themselves. YAY!

HAHAHA in fact this month of my blog review I got plenty things to tell but they are not really related in this post. I rather create a new post to blog it. So I guess this is about it so I am gonna end it here.

Signing off....

8th Rehearsal for NDP (2nd final?)

Ahhhhh.... I woke up will lots of aches and my dreaming bout the upcoming event on Sunday but still this is a rehearsal and you gotta have to give it all the best. YUP YUP.

Yea aches...from my shoulders to knees and is really uncomfortable, kinda like a rusty joint with no lubrication or rubbing of fixed gears. I was early for once, real early and I like wait there at the training shed there for quite a while while waiting for our transport to arrive.

Today we were told that there is a strict security check, I guess they are taking it seriously now since a lot of things have happen recently. We went through and settle down at our holding area. Lunch was KFC but is fish ole..hiax but I expect something more filling but no..just bread. Since the security is really strict, we can't afford to go to the other toilet to change and of course, with so many contingents and GOH, who wont say the toilet will be packed??

It raining later but we still carry on with our training, even I got not much mood in it I still have to go through anyway...tiring. After the first run, cause of heavy downpour, we all are stuck in the area in the stadium for a period of time, yea my sleeping time. I was aching everywhere but we cant lie on the floor cause we are in open public and I tried VARIES of position in sleeping, which include of holding the rifle. In the end none really work out well, my neck is aching and I got a numbers of leg craps and pin and needle feelings... I am so tired that I don't even budge..Then we continue later, after the rain is over, a full run and then back to the Suntec exhibition holding area. Due to the security, we are to hand over the magazines we left over, may it be blank or still have rounds, we are to give it back for safe keeping by them.

Dinner! and is BREAD AGAIN! waaa....why no rice......I am tired of bread already. I only find that today they actually have doughnuts for us. LOL and we got a fun bag! I thought is the goodie bag but is not...is just a bag with a packet of instant noodles and a bag with a box of soap powder and detergent. (erm..you call this a "fun" bag?) but anyways I have complete use of all these so it great. They also preview the NDP shows which are filmed on previously previews. I gotta say but we look UNIFIED and COOL with white =PpP. Our performance is going to be better and better. Times up! and I need to changed into the no.1 but like I said the toilet is bound to be packed and also my uniform is white.... -.-""

My stomach is acting up again..and by the time i finished everything including changing, it time to fall in for inspection. We all just let them check, our uniform and rifle, draw a mag and they watch us load. After all this we are told not to go anywhere even the toilet and soon after that we all moved off.The parade end off nicely except for one of the GOH's shoulder's ampulet somehow fell off...

MAN I WAS TOTALLY BEATED! after the casing I was really damn tired.. then we just change up and then pack up ready to go back home.

Days progresses by and soon the real day was like a week away and yea gotta do it nice and sweet with no mistakes. How i want to sleep...

7th Rehearsal for NDP

Ahh same thing again and I am not gonna say it but today is a bit different. Why? Well... cause its RAINING! CAT1!

Yup. CAT1 all the way till 12+pm. So what we do? Err.. we jus slack in the exhibition hall 6 at level 4. We are suppose to be in the usual holding area but we are hold up at level 4 specially today cause there are road shows and book exhibition today at level 3. I observed that it seems like the whole level has one Gents near our area and the rest are Ladies. (Gotta actually walk a distance to get there.)

So it raining but we still gotta train so we are practicing in the air conditioned hall and its fast, only the 4 GOH only. The training is split up to 2 sets, one for us and one for the marching contingent but its not the SAF but the psycological defense group. Then later the economical group came to join in the practice.

We have red and comfy seats today and that was the first. Also we got more time to rest which means we slack all the way to 4.45pm, almost to 5pm, before we actually change to our ceremonial no.1. Ummmm....Pizzaa~

Ok- Think the rest is the same, march off, hold up, march in and perform drills to perfection. Only thing I encounter is my boots....THE WHOLE SOLE CAME OFF. Cause the guy behind me was step the back and soon I feel something is not rite then the next thing I knew is the sound of "rip off" and I was like Sianzz-- Lucky I got my last spare....I hope I can survive with it.... please I wanna be in THE PARADE.....don't let my training go to waste!!!

Done and thats bout it today. Its all coming to an end soon and they say they will give us a CD of the NDP and the photos taken by our warrant, can't wait for that day to come but also by the time we have already posted out... I wonder what we are going to do when we still have NDP rehearsals, be a Office boy? LOL!

5th and 6th NDP Rehearsal

Same thing mostly but now after the SAF day there is 2 rehearsals in a week. I just want to get post out. Things are just getting out of hand... I need a break...

The whole day was same on the Wednesday training but short. Cause there is no marching contingent so the training is only solely on foot drills and firing procedures. But the Saturday is a bit different and now all the Saturday's rehearsals are all full dress...

The whole day on Saturday was bit sianz (who won't? Who don't want home? a block leave for rest after a course exam?) Well at least ever since I join the GOH I never regret being in it and I endure all the way till this day for the NDP and I am not going to stop now. Even may my bones injured or a spine problem, so be it, I am still going to march and its the only thing in MY WHOLE OF GOD DAMN NAVY LIFE which I appreciated most and something which I want to do. Something at LEAST to have a good memory in my military life.

We have pizza for lunch today! Cool but small portion, only one big slice and 3 chicken wings and a garlic bread cube LOL kinda cute though the way they pack. I met up with Lionel and to my surprised I thought I heard Amanda's voice. Thought I was hearing things but when I hear "up" and yea they were there. Amanda, Chong, Lionel and even Joy! yup she is till the same. After the sheathing of colours then they all came up and find me. Haha took a few pictures with them and I tell them I can't stay and talk to civilians in this uniform.

Some Pictures she send over:
The photo is the other way round lol

Joy, Me, Amanda (I look sad, I know I cant smile)
Lionel presenting me lol

There is more but I got no spend to edit so I just put the best here. (lots are blur due to motion). Wanted to meet them out later but it seem to be too late, we are hold up due to some problem at hand. Back to camp my mind was blank, too tired to think and I forgot to sign which makes it a bad thing to ruin my day.

By the time I finish its already so late so I call and told them I am going back. Call a cab and the next thing I know my day actually wasn't that bad after all. The driver was a friendly Malay, he talks bout what I been doing and why so late, he even offer me to take an extra mile to drive me home but I say there no need to as I need to get take aways for my dinner. He related he past life in the NS serving as a police.

We chatted along the way bout the rehearsals for ndp and marching. He was once in it too. At first I thought he live nearby my area (cause its already so late and mostly taxi drivers make their last drop off near their home), but to my surprised he lived at Yishun and he just so happen to pick my call cause he drop off a passenger at the ferry terminal and he attend and help his relative by driving him all the way to the east area for his event. If everyone in the world is this nice and helpful, It will be real wonderfully peaceful and a great place to live in.

Sadly its not...even for those who tried so hard and yet they are not even recognised and yet treated badly. Guess this is what they say first appearance counts. Blah- I don't think so...

I had enough for the day and I find that is all great after all. Now for my sleep.

My out of date posts

Yea the SAF day posts and after those post are outdated posts cause I have no time to type anything due to the rehearsals, test and yea....more more more stuff of the military.

Well put that aside at least now I got some time to type out some stuff which I want them in my blog so yea. ZZZZZZ I am just really tired this few days cause of the marching, so instead i just summarize a bit.

These few days have been studying, yea studying lots so as to pass and pass out and FINALLY go to my vocation. At least one thing I know is that is at TUAS, which is damn far...really far. (one end to another end for my case). Well been there once and the place got lots of gold bars on the shoulders, 1 - 3 at least...scary... the food is there not bad though.

The written tests are much more easier to pass but hard to understand. The course notes are thick but there is some only necessary information we need to know, after all we don't fire missiles or shoot yea so why we need to cover it anyway. The topics were mostly learned from the pc itself so the course notes are just reference and revision.

The tests have drawn real close and not only I got rehearsals but also my own projects. I have to part with my own hobbies and be alert to the rehearsals and PAY MORE TO STUDY CAUSE I NEED TO PASS IT!! So it begins....

All right the first test paper we had, was not what I expected it to be, as in that easy. Though I didn't get the marks I wanted (and the worse case is what i study didn't came out ~.~) but i still passed. But the second test is a bit more difficult for me and is a short paper. To me this paper is really hard for me to pass cause whatever I learn DIDN'T CAME OUT!!! zzzzzz..... Argh.... I only hope for retest after the paper is finished that day.

Harbour practical I heard our results and one of my class mates told us no one fails and I was said to be top five, but its no big deal cause our class has only 11 people so its doesn't make any difference. LOL XD All I let to pass is the practical exam at Tuas.

I tried my best to absorb all I learned and put it to use. I did well I say on the real thing and I know more better. Tried to listen hard for all the fast and incoming important information from my course com's mouth and practice on the machine to get the feel of whats going on. Then revise abit and wait for the test tomorrow.

The Test Day is here and I am waiting at the vessel for the darn test...so I just doze off while waiting. We drew lots so I just so happen to be 2nd last...zzzzzz....I don't understand why they took so long to finish and the test drag all the way till 4+pm and still got 2 haven take the test yet, i guess is the machine problem, I was half way through mine till it hang then i have to answer the questions verbally...zzzzz

RESULTS IS OUT, I can say the whole class passed out of this course(I assumed). For the first time, when I don't like to go to tuas, now I REALLY WANT TO! I have my reasons =)

Yup and so it concludes this post and I gonna end it cause I want my well earned rest. Nite.

SAF DAY

FINALLY OUR SHOW! YES! OUR WEEKEND IS BURNED CAUSE OF THIS! YEA SO THIS HAVE BETTER BE A SHOW I MUST DO WELL IN! BRACE YOURSELVES! BRACE BRACE BBRRAACCEE~~~~!!!!!!

Ok the start of the day was early. We got our stuff and ready to go. I make sure myself is awake while on the bus but i cant help it but to sleep cause too comfortable.... ahhh~

The first thing I do when I board off the bus is to get a can of Red Bull and then sit in the holding area reading my friend's book. Our final briefing and we are told to do our best cause the president is coming and our discipline have to be at top standard and maintained. Keeping myself awake is a very easy cause the weather is hot on that day, even with the clouds covering the sky and my secret item to keep me going, MY HOLY SKETCHBOOK AND MY CASE OF STATIONERY. Yup the best thing for me to pass time real quickly is DRAWING! My favourite hobby =) (I know till now been saying posting my work but I till didn't LOL).

We also received a token of appreciation from the SAF Day, an encased NS 40 gold coin. Though its only for the spectators and the guests who are viewing the parade but they specially make extra for us cause we participated in the parade and for all the training we been through. This how the coin look like:

front or back

back or front (how would I know which is head or tails..they just put it in a small box) OMG THE PLANE IS GONE!!!

Nice eh? Sorry bout the blurred images (my camera ran out of batteries so yea have to take it quickly and I think my settings are wrong). A memento for all the hard work we been through, they give this coin out to us after our first short sequence run and while we having our break.

The weather was fine, I love early evenings they have a nice cool blue scenery makes you feel relaxed. I took the whole of rest time rather than sleeping but drawing, to keep myself fully awake for the REAL thing. We change out our army no.4 to our ceremonial no.1 and of course I did rather change later cause our navy uniform is all white....

We have a full check on our uniforms, those who have been check will be check again if they have gone to the toilet. Told to remove all sharp, metal or any items like handphones and keys in our pockets, (our bayonet is sharp, do we have to remove it? its kinda heavy too. LOL XD) just a thought. So after all this we are prepare to move to the parade square and wait. Took our last photo shoot in our uniform as a remembrance ( Hope to get it soon...) and we wait for the command to march in. =D

Soon the whole thing started and all was not in vain cause of all the hard work we put in it. It ran really smoothly and our endurance for standing have already toughen us up, so this parade no one will fall. NEVER FALL!! My first time seeing the president up real close too. XD After all the prize giving and speeches, we gave the show one last splendid march off and off we go, heading back to the holding area and ready for home =)

This SAF day was a memorial event and will be etched in my NS life memories. It an achievement and another story in my life that I will cherish.

Fnal rehearsal for SAF day

Yup, the last and final rehearsal for the SAF day parade. Woot!

Definetly we pull through this off easily but we are tired from all the days marching so is kinda sloppy if you ask me. The sound is not there, still we put in effort so thats the best point.

Two rehearsals and once you finished, you get to go back. YAY! Prolonged endurance and only one collapse due to heat exhaustion and the tightness of the peak cap. Its no joke that the weather is really blazing. Blazing so hot that water evaporates immeadiately after you pour it the stone pavement. yea...

All ends quickly, Half day off is the reward we got and I somehow forgot the rest of the day. crapzzz...my bad memory...
